The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has committed 1.5 billion roubles to improve the technological solutions and system architecture of drones and aircraft, emphasizing the development of domestic electronic components. This initiative, detailed in government procurement documents, seeks to equip aircraft with competitive, domestically produced systems within the next two to four years. The project involves creating universal control units, high-performance processor modules, and compact inertial navigation systems for both light and heavy drones, as well as piloted aircraft like the SJ-100 and MC-21. The goal is to integrate Russian aircraft into the global airspace system while maintaining high safety standards. The initiative is part of a broader effort to replace foreign components with domestic alternatives, enhancing operational performance and expanding aircraft capabilities. For instance, the SJ-100, which recently achieved certification with a high degree of Russian components, will feature over 80 import-substituted systems, including avionics and propulsion systems. The project also includes the development of a modular interior, additional fuel systems, and extensive testing of the PD-8 engine, which replaces the French SaM146 engine. The R&D work, divided into three phases from 2025 to 2027, will involve prototype fabrication, system enhancements, and final certification tests. The ultimate aim is to improve the performance, reliability, and service life of Russian aircraft, ensuring they meet international aviation standards. However, serial production of the import-substituted SJ-100 is not expected until 2026, as comprehensive testing and certification are required to ensure safety and reliability. This initiative underscores Russia's commitment to achieving technological self-sufficiency in its aviation industry amidst ongoing geopolitical challenges. #SSJ100 #RussianDrones #pd8 Be a Member for exclusive privileges - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCviEFTf1xIPKsjmyF_zvFug/join Twitter : https://x.com/AltitudeAddicts Website: https://www.altitudeaddicts.com
